Dada in DC

Hello from Washington DC where the Exhibition "Dada" opens at the National Gallery of Art this weekend. Last night was the preview party, and what a party it was! The NGA pulled out all the stops and mounted a real Dada celebration with themed food and table decorations - even a conveyor belt with such delights as foie gras lollypops!

The exhibition itself is fantastic. Totally different from its original incarnation at the Centre Pompidou in Paris last year. This show is far more aesthetic and less focused on the literary aspect of this art movement. It is divided into 6 main galleries, representing the 6 centers for Dada - Zurich, Berlin, Hannover, Cologne, New York and Paris. Very cleverly selected and arranged.

Congratulations to Leah Dickerman and her colleagues at the National Gallery. The show comes to MoMA, New York, in June for its final stop. If you get a chance, don't miss it!
